The Sanskrit word lok लोक् means to see, behold, perceive. Its derivation is loka लोक meaning the wide space or world (either"the universe"or,"any division of it". लोक् lok is the origin of the English verb look.

पश् paś, to see, behold, look at, observe, perceive (its
derivation paśya पश्य means seeing, beholding, rightly understanding) is the
origin of English verb see.
ज्ञा jñā, to know, perceive, apprehend, understand is the
origin of English verb know.
कृ kṛ, doing / karaṇa or sṛj सृज् (variant srjati) meaning
to emit, pour forth became English verb create.
The Sanskrit dhatu (ḍu) kṛñ meaning to
carry out/to perform is the origin of English verb do.
